Group services are…

What are group and team services?

Customized

Every group is different — we will work together to design a program that fits the needs, interests, and goals of your group.

Interactive

Group services can be provided on-site at a location convenient for your group, in person in my office (for smaller groups), or virtually through teleconferencing or phone calls.

In-Person or Virtual

The best way to learn is by doing - services use activities and exercises to build on pre-existing group strengths and engage you in integrating new ideas into your understanding and approach to sport.

Why Team or Group Sport Psychology Services?

Build Knowledge and Skill

Understanding even a few key concepts from sport psychology can transform the way you approach practice and performance. Group services are a great way to learn about these concepts and develop processes for integrating them at organizational, team, or individual levels.

Improve Performance

Confidence, focus, resilience, and consistency are key to athletic success. Consultations and team sessions provide different options for groups looking to gain a competitive edge by developing these traits at organizational, team, or individual levels.

Enhance Chemistry and Cohesion

There are few things more rewarding in sport than being part of a cohesive group that enjoys working together towards a common goal - but these kinds of groups don’t happen by accident. Group services help teams establish clear identity, values, roles, and behaviors so you can have the kind of culture that makes groups enjoyable and successful.

Foster Joy and Well-Being

Sport is meant to be a fun and nourishing environment for those who participate, but so often the opportunity for promoting wellness is lost when performances are prioritized over people. Group services can help teams and organizations use sport psychology to be more intentional about creating environments that allow individuals to thrive both on and off the field.

  • Group services are for any group that has an interest in sport psychology – really, any group. Whether it’s 2-3 people wanting to learn more about a couple of sport psychology topics or an entire organization looking for consultation, we can work together to develop a program that is a good fit for your interests, goals, and resources.

  • Workshops/Presentation

Workshops and presentations are designed to focus on a particular sport psychology topic (for example: confidence, focus, mental skills, or athlete mental health). For small to medium sized groups, workshops will use experiential components to help participants learn how to integrate key concepts into their own approach. More traditional, lecture-style presentations can arranged for large group speaking engagements.

    Team Sessions

Team sessions focus on using sport psychology to improve team functioning or address issues the team might be facing. Although this may involve a session based on a particular topic, more frequently, team sessions will involve experiential activities designed to help the group reflect on and optimize their approach. Examples of possible goals for team sessions include clarifying team roles/values, improving communication, or building cohesion/chemistry.

    Organizational/Program Consultations

Consultations are for organizations or teams that want to make a commitment to integrating sport psychology into their systems over the course of a season. This can include a variety of different elements based on the goals, needs, and resources of the group – we will work together to design a program that fits for you. Elements might include:

    • Access to individual services for athletes

    • Team sessions

    • Consultation for coaches

    • Leadership training/consultation for team leaders

    • Processes for integrating sport psychology into group development

    • Processes for integrating sport psychology into individual development

I take great care in designing programs based on current research and key concepts of sport psychology. • The prices for group services will vary based on a number of factors including: the type of service you are requesting, the length and number of the sessions/workshops you request, the size of the group you are requesting services for, and the location where services will be provided.

I strive to be clear and transparent with my pricing, so please contact me if you have an interest in group services so that I can give you accurate pricing information based on your needs and goals.

  • If you are interested in working with me, please get in touch! You can do this either by giving me a call (518-423-5157), by sending me a text (same number), or sending me an e-mail message (andrew@vincentpsychology.com). Simply let me know your name, the best way to get in touch with you, and say that you are interested in sport psychology services for your group and would like to set up a time for a consultation call.

The consultation call is completely free. It will give you a chance to ask any questions you may have and also give me a chance to better understand the goals and needs of your group. We will work together to decide on a program that meets goals/needs/resources so you can know what it would look like for us to work together.
